Driver Killed in Rollover Accident, FM-350 NORTH, July 3, 2024 - At approximately 6:50 am on July 3, 2024, a white 1997 Nissan Pathfinder was north-bound on FM-350 North (near Horace Bonds Road). The driver left the pavement to the left, overcorrected right, left the pavement to the right, rolled multiple times and came to rest upright next to a barbed wire fence in the 2660 block of 350 North. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Sergeant Roper Ellison with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Trooper Sean Barnes with the Texas Highway Patrol. Barnes was assisted by Trooper Damon Zarate and Sergeant Sam Lattner. During the rollover, the driver (not yet identified) was ejected and killed on impact. Traffic on 350 was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. Justice of the Peace, Robert "Dooley" Johnson filed an inquest at the scene. A first-call car from Cochran Funeral Home transported the driver from the scene. The vehicle was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker Service out of Goodrich. This accident remains under investigation by The Texas Highway Patrol. We'll update this story when we're able to ascertain the identity of the driver.
