A 2003 Ford Expedition lies upside down on Old Israel Road. 3 vehicle occupants were ejected.
Driver Rolls Vehicle, 3 Ejected, LIVINGSTON, July 1, 2011 - Shortly after 3 pm on July 1, 2011, a white 2001 Ford Expedition driven by Christy Steel, 30, of Livingston was north-bound on Old Israel Road when she apparently went into a curve too fast and lost control. Steel over corrected and rolled her vehicle. Steel and two of her passengers were ejected during the roll. A fourth passenger, Courtney Brock, 17, crawled from the wreckage. The other two passengers were: Christina Cones, 20, and Edan Marie Wilcox, 17, all of Livingston.
Deputy Mark Dubose was dispatched to the scene along with Americare Ambulance Service and DPS Troopers Kevin Burman, Rocky Thigpen, David Morris, Darwon Evans, and Corporal Sam Lattner. Emergency personnel treated all 4 accident victims at the scene and loaded them onto ambulances for transport to Livingston Memorial Hospital. Old Israel Road was completely blocked during investigation and cleanup. According to Trooper Burman, Christy Steel, Christina Cones, and Edan Wilcox are facing citations for no seat belt. Burman also pointed out that in addition to unsafe speed, the windshield may have possibly been obstructed by paint and could possibly be a contributing factor. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Steel's vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. The scene was cleared by 4:30 pm.
