5 Vehicle Cluster Wreck, SODA, June 25, 2024 - At approximately 9:55 am on June 25, 2024, the driver of a gray Chevy Traverse was east-bound on US-190 East, waiting to make a left turn into a parking lot (next to Soda Baptist Church). Behind the Chevy Traverse was a white Toyota Camry behind the Toyota was a Ford F-150 pickup, behind the Ford was a white full size van. Suddenly, a large cargo truck hauling Bud Light Beer (yes, that Bud Light) slammed into the back of the van, knocking it into the pickup, the pickup cut his wheels to the right causing him to go right (but struck the back corner of the white Toyota) knocking the Toyota into the Chevy Traverse. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Corporal Ramey Bass with The Texas Highway Patrol. Fortunately there were no injuries. The driver of the Bud Light truck is likely facing a citation for failure to control speed. Traffic on 190 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Rollback wreckers from Ken's Towing and Smith's Towing were summoned to clean up the mess.
The Bud Light driver (wearing blue Bud Light shirt) is the cause of the cluster wreck.
Mixi, Molly, Heidi, and Katy were on duty for PolkCountyToday.com.
