Driver Attempts Left Turn, Fails to Yield to Oncoming Traffic, ALABAMA COUSHATTA COUNTRY, June 25, 2017 - At approximately 3:45 pm on June 25, 2017, the driver of a tan 2003 Chevy Tahoe was east-bound on US-190 East. The driver decided to attempt a left turn into the Alabama One Stop store and gas station but failed to yield to a west-bound white 2011 Chevy Malibu. The vehicles collided. The Tahoe came to rest in the middle of the pavement while the Malibu came to rest on the right shoulder of the west-bound side. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Officer Billy Duke with the Alabama Coushatta Police Department, the Alabama Coushatta Volunteer Fire Department and Trooper Allen Stanton with the Texas Highway Patrol. Amazingly, nobody sustained serious from the glancing head on collision. The driver of the Chevy Tahoe is possibly facing a citation for failure to yield right-of-way at a left turn. The Tahoe was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Pollock's Body Shop in Livingston while the Malibu was recovered by Fawbush Body Shop and will be stored in Goodrich.
