US-59 at the south end of Loop 393 on Sunday afternoon
Broad Side Accident Hospitalizes 2, GOODRICH, June 23, 2019 - At approximately 2:40 pm on June 23, 2019, a blue 2007 Toyota Sienna, driven by Glenn Laird, 70, of Stafford, was south-bound on US-59. As Laird approached the south end of Loop 393, a red 2013 Ford F-150, driven by Steven Bishop, 51, of Humble, attempted to crossover from the north-bound side of 59 to Loop 393 but failed to yield. Laird's minivan slammed into the passenger's side Bishop's pickup. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Troopers Nick Hatton, Allen Stanton, John Allen, Colton McQuilton, and Zach Lenderman with the Texas Highway Patrol. Laird's wife, and a youth from Bishop's vehicle were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One lane of traffic on the south-bound side of 59 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Bishop was cited for failure to yield. Both vehicles were recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Goodrich.

Laird's vehicle impacted this 2013 Ford F-150, driven by 51 year old Steven Bishop, of Humble.
Laird's wife (pictured) and a minor from Bishop's vehicle were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Trooper Nick Hatton cited Bishop for failure to yield.
Both vehicles were recovered by Ken's Towing.
