According to witnesses (other motorists), Barnes was driving erratically as if intoxicated. Trooper Darwon Evans with the Texas Highway Patrol was dispatched to the area to locate the vehicle. Before Trooper Evans arrived, Barnes slammed into the rear end of a Green Ford Expedition that was being driven by a mother with her children on board. Evans arrived shortly after the collision occurred. Fortunately, nobody was injured. Evans spoke with Barnes and decided to conduct a field sobriety test on Barnes. Barnes was placed under arrest.
