Resendez, 17, of Rye, Texas, was south-bound on FM-1276 approaching a right curve.  Resendez says she looked down, her vehicle drifted to the left across the center stripe, she corrected back to the right and began sliding out of control.  Her vehicle rotated clockwise and rolled into the ditch.  Resendez's vehicle hit a tree and came to rest upright facing northeast.  DPS trooper Brent Henry was dispatched to the scene.  In addition there was a Polk County Sheriff's Deputy who was the first emergency responder to arrive.  Resendez was trapped in her vehicle and the door had to be pryed open in order to get her out.  Resendez was taken by Americare Ambulance to a landing Zone where she was Life Flighted to Houston.  Resendez did have insurance.  Her vehicle was towed from the scene by Polock's Wrecker Service.  A citation was issued to Resendez for traveling at an unsafe speed.
