65 year old James Wesley King, of Houston, left the pavement and crashed into a tree off US-190 East.
Driver Crashes Into Tree, Alcohol Suspected, ONALASKA, June 16, 2018 - At approximately 12:25 am on June 16, 2018, a gray 2011 Nissan Sentra, driven by James Wesley King, 65, of Houston, was east-bound on US-190 East.  King's vehicle veered left, crossed the west-bound lanes, left the pavement and slammed into a tree (near Sandy Creek Marina).  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Onalaska Volunteer Fire Department, Sergeant Adam Norris with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Kevin Burman, John Allen, Darwon Evans and Ashlee White with the Texas Highway Patrol.  King smelled of alcohol and had an empty wine bottle in his vehicle.  King was transported by ambulance to a helipad next to the Onalaska Volunteer Fire Department.  He was flown to Conroe Regional Hospital with undisclosed injuries.  Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup.  King is possibly facing the charge of driving while intoxicated.  His vehicle was recovered by George White & Sons Wrecker Service and will be stored in Onalaska.
