Driver Crashes Vehicle Onto Church Lawn, 1 Hospitalized, GOODRICH, June 16, 2017 - At approximately 6:15 pm on June 16, 2017, a gray 2010 Chevy Equinox, driven by Daryl Pogue, 47, of Nacogdoches, was north-bound on US-59. According to Pogue, another vehicle pulled directly in front of him. Pogue swerved to avoid a collision and lost control as his vehicle left the pavement to the right. His vehicle rolled through a shallow ditch and wet airborne as he came out of the ditch at Knight Street. Pogue's vehicle jumped Knight Street and landed on the front lawn of Chesswood Baptist Church, crashed through a church entrance sign and came to rest on the lawn. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Troopers Allen Stanton and Sean Chandler with the Texas Highway Patrol. Pogue was okay, as was his wife, but his mother sustained injuries. She was loaded into an ambulance and transported to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. No citations were issued. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Pogue's vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.

Pogue's mother-in-law who was in the back seat appeared to have sustained serious injuries.

Pogue's vehicle was recovered by Kenn's Towing.
