FedEx 18 Wheeler Turns Over, LEGGETT, June 16, 2015 - At approximately 5:45 am on June 16, 2015 a FedEx 18 wheeler double trailer was south-bound on US-59 in Leggett.  The driver, Richard Kurzhal, Jr., 42, of Houston, possibly fell asleep at the wheel, drifted to the right and left the pavement.  The rig spun around to face north and turned over on it's passenger's side.  One of the trailers tore open spilling its cargo.  Some of the cargo is believed to be hazardous materials.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputy Bert Sims with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Barett Duren and David Morris (both with the Texas Highway Patrol).  Kurzhal was treated at the scene by EMS personnel and transported to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  At time of press (8 am) the mess is being cleaned up.
