Amazingly, the driver of this vehicle walked away unharmed.
Cadillac Slams Into Guard Rail on 59 North, Driver Walks Away, GOODRICH, June 16, 2008 - At approximately 8:50 pm on June 15, 2008, a white 2000 Cadillac Deville driven by William Glen Waddill, 27, of Houston slammed into the guard rail on 59 north-bound side in the Goodrich North area. According to Waddill, he fell asleep while at the wheel. The car slammed head-on into the guard rail on the left of the highway and the car spun sideways as the car came to a rest on 59. Both driver's side and passenger's side airbags deployed due to the impact. DPS Trooper David Morris was dispatched to the scene and Polk County Sheriff's Deputy David Ramsey. Waddill did have his seatbelt fastened and he did have insurance. Waddill was issued a citation. Waddill is a musician and his guitar, keyboard, Mac Computer and various other items were spilled out onto 59 beside his car. A rollback wrecker from Harwood Bros. wrecker service arrived to tow the Cadillac. The mess was completely cleaned up by around 10 pm.
