Motorcycle Driver in Critical Condition After Striking Logging Truck, MOSCOW, June 15, 2015 - At approximately 5:20 am on June 15, 2015, a logging truck driven by Rodney Walker, 44, of Moscow, was west-bound on FM-350 North. Walker decided to head back the other way and backed his rig onto South Road (a few miles from US-59). As Walker was backing onto South Road, an east-bound Honda Magna motorcycle (driver's name being withheld at this time) apparently failed to notice Walkers rig and slammed into the side of the logging truck. The driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Trooper Barett Duren with the Texas Highway Patrol. Trooper Duren was soon joined by Deputy Bert Sims with the Polk County Sheriff's Office. The driver of the motorcycle was driven by ambulance to a landing zone on US-59 at FM-350 and flown by helicopter to Hermann Hospital in Houston in very critical condition. Traffic on 350 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Duren cited Walker for back without safety (unsafe backup). The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Duren. When the motorcycle driver's name is released we'll post it on this website. The motorcycle was recovered by Clifton Chevrolet out of Corrigan.
