18 Wheeler Turns Over, LIVINGSTON, June 15, 2011 - At approximately 3:45 pm on June 15, 2011, a white Volvo 18 wheeler driven by Harjit Singh Atwal, 37, of Ontario, Canada, attempted to drive under the US-59 overpass (located next to Livingston Jr. High School).  Atwal apparently was going too fast when he entered the curve and turned his truck over just as he was entering the south-bound side of the feeder on 59.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, representatives from TXDOT, and Officers with the Livingston Police Department including Ashley Early, Chad Lilley, Kevin Blackburn, Sergeant Lewis Milner, and Melissa Blackburn.  Atwal was checked by EMS personnel but was physically okay.  Traffic was partially blocked and at times, completely blocked during cleanup.  Atwal was hauling vinyl siding in his trailer.  A heavy-duty recovery crew was dispatched from Riley Wrecker Service out of Corrigan to clean up the mess.  According to Officer Ashley Early, Atwal was cited for unsafe speed.  At time of press (5:45 pm) the cleanup was still ongoing.

Special thank you:  Ken from Ken's Towing
Officer Ashley Early with the Livingston Police Department is the investigating Officer.
Harjit Singh Atwal of Ontario Canada was checked by EMS Personnel from Americare. It was determined that Atwal was physically okay.
Top Notch: Representatives from TXDOT were on the scene to assist.
