Fatal Accident at Dangerous Curve, LIVINGSTON, June 12, 2023 - Shortly before 10 am on June 12, 2023, Livingston Police Department was notified of an accident at the curve that goes under the US-59 bypass (near Bounds Autoplex). Preliminarily, the accident appears to have happened within the last 48 hours. Evidence suggests that the male driver of an older model GMC pickup, entered the curve too fast that goes under the 59 bypass. His pickup left the pavement and continued towards the creek that runs under 59, jumped an embankment, went airborne, struck a large tree and came to rest on its driver's side deep in the weeds. Officer Ryan Boyd with Livingston Police Department was dispatched to conduct a preliminary investigation. Officer Boyd was assisted by a host of other officers with LPD including Chief Matt Parrish, and the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department. The driver of the pickup was deceased. Justice of the Peace, Jamie Richardson performed an inquest at the scene. The driver had no identification on his person and is yet to be positively identified. A first-call car from Cochran Funeral Home transported the victim from the scene. The pickup was recovered by Dan's Towing out of Livingston. This accident remains under investigation by the Livingston Police Department.
