Motorcycle Strikes Small Deer, Driver Flown Out, LIVINGSTON, June 11, 2018 - At approximately 9:35 pm on June 10, 2018, a black Harley Davidson Motorcycle was west-bound on Old Israel (3500 block) when the motorcycle struck a small deer in the road.  The collision caused the driver, Jessie Martinez, 55, of Livingston, to lose control.  Martinez was ejected from his bike (Martinez was not wearing a helmet), as the bike continued right and left the pavement.  The bike rolled and came to rest in the weeds.  Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Sergeant Javier Segura with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Kevin Burman with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Martinez was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital where he was loaded into a medical helicopter and flown to Conroe Regional Hospital with major injuries.  No citations were issued.  Martinez's motorcycle was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker and will be stored in Goodrich.
