Driver Flown to Conroe After Major Accident, LIVINGSTON, June 9, 2020 - At approximately 11:30 am on June 9, 2020, the driver of a red 2012 Honda Civic driven by Jannie Pinchback, 75, of Conroe, was north-bound on Pan American Drive (coming off the Business 59 Exit). Pinchback allegedly attempted to go around the traffic control devices (reflective plastic flexible sticks) and do an illegal U-turn to get to a parking lot (South Point parking lot). She was slammed by a north-bound 2017 Chevy Silverado, driven by 18 year old Cheyenne Marie Peters of Livingston. Both vehicles slid into the median and came to rest pressed together. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston and Goodrich Volunteer Fire Departments and Officers Kaleb Barker, Scott Paske and Sergeant Ronnie Bogany with the Livingston Police Department. Peters was physically okay. The passenger in the Honda was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Pinchback was trapped. Firemen used the Jaws-of-Life to cut the door off of the Honda to carefully remove her from her vehicle. A PHi Air Medical helicopter landed on the north-bound side of Pan American Drive. Pinchback was flown to Conroe Regional Hospital with serious injuries. All traffic on the north-bound side of Pan American was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Both vehicles were recovered by Ken's Towing. The Honda will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston, and Peters' vehicle was taken to White Cars (off US-190 East). This accident remains under investigation by the Livingston Police Department.
