Driver Crashes Through Fence, Rolls Vehicle, SWARTWOUT, June 8, 2024 - Shortly before 5 am on June 8, 2024, a white 2015 Nissan Rogue, driven by Kristopher Cole, 38, of Livingston, was north-bound on FM-1988 South. According to Cole, an oncoming south-bound vehicle pulled into his lane. Cole steered his vehicle to the right, into the grass to avoid a collision, then over corrected to the left, crossed the pavement left the pavement to the other side, slid sideways through a barbed wire fence, and rolled into a field (just south of FM-3278). Cole's vehicle came to rest upside down. Cole crawled from his vehicle. Sheriff Byron Lyons was in the vicinity and was the first person on the scene and was quickly joined by Sergeant Dakota Martinez (also with the Sheriff's Office). Allegiance Ambulance Service was summoned. Trooper Johnny Wilkerson with the Texas Highway Patrol was dispatched to investigate. Cole was transported by ambulance to a landing zone and flown with undisclosed injuries. Cole was alert, talking, and with help from EMS Personnel, was able to walk to the ambulance. Cole is facing citations for an expired driver's license and no insurance. His vehicle was recovered by Dan's Towing out of Livingston.

Cole slid sideways through this barbed wire fence, then rolled.
Cole was speaking but appeared to be in pain. EMS personnel speak with him.
Cole's vehicle was recovered and turned upright by Dan's Towing out of Livingston.
