Crash on FM-2665, GOODRICH, June 8, 2013 - At approximately 7:55 pm on June 7, 2013, a gray 2002 Toyota Corolla driven by Donald Bacon, 49, of Port Lavaca, was west-bound on FM-2665.  Bacon's vehicle was suddenly slammed from behind by a silver 2004 Chevy Malibu driven by Steven Reese, 23, of Goodrich.  Reese was driving too fast and failed to notice Bacon's vehicle.  The impact crushed the back of Bacon's car and may have totaled Reese's car.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputy Adam Norris with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Bacon and two of his passengers were treated at the scene and then transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital by Ambulance.  Reese was physically okay.  Traffic was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup.  According to Trooper Bass, Reese was cited for following too close and no driver's license.  A rollback wrecker from Harwood Wrecker Service recovered Bacon's vehicle and it will be stored in Livingston.  Reese's vehicle was recovered by a friend.
