Livingston, June 4, 2011: An Americare Ambulance is parked at Car Care Corner at US-190 West and FM-350 South.
Car Jack Failure Causes Serious Injuries to Local Business Owner, LIVINGSTON, June 4, 2011 - According to witnesses, just minutes after 12 noon, local business owner Stan Goodson of Car Care Corner, located at US-190 West and FM-350 South, was at his shop. Goodson was allegedly under a full size pickup that was suspended in the air with a commercial grade vehicle lift. Evidence at the scene suggests that the bolts that hold one side of the stand in place came out of the concrete causing the stand to give way. The truck came down on Goodson crushing one leg and causing a major back injury as well. Workers in the shop dropped what they were doing and grabbed a floor jack and were able to get the truck off of Goodson. In the meantime, Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department and Officer Kevin Blackburn with the Livingston Police Department.
EMS personnel treated Goodson at the scene. A PHi Air Medical helicopter landed in the parking lot of First National Bank and flew Goodson to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. At time of press, the condition of Stan Goodson is not known to PolkCountyToday.com. The scene was cleared shortly after 1 pm.

The back half of the truck came down when one side of the vehicle lift gave way. Workers grabbed a floor jack and were able to lift the truck off of Goodson.
