2 Large Trucks Collide, Burn, ALABAMA COUSHATTA, June 3, 2020 - At approximately 11:15 am on June 3, 2020, a rollback wrecker, driven by Jonathon Darden, 25, of Call, was west-bound on US-190 East (a short distance east of FM-2500). According to witnesses, Darden was driving erratically. Darden veered left and struck the tail end portion of a east-bound 18 wheeler driven by Jason Campbell, 33, of Winona. The mishap caused Darden to swerve left and strike a large commercial truck that was legally parked on the east-bound shoulder, driven by Matthew Clamon, 30, of Livingston. The impact was head on, and both trucks ignited. Both drivers safely exited their vehicles but both drivers also had injuries. The 18 wheeler pulled to the shoulder further down the road. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston, Alabama Coushatta, and West Lake Volunteer Fire Departments, and Troopers John Allen and Sergeant Sam Lattner with the Texas Highway Patrol. Both Darden and Clamon were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Both trucks were totaled by fire. Traffic on 190 East was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Darden is facing a citation for driving on the wrong side of the road while not passing. Both vehicles were recovered by heavy duty wreckers.
