Volunteer Firemen from Livingston put out a vehicle fire of FM-350 North near Cedar Grove Road. The vehicle was engulfed in flames.
Mystery Vehicle Fire, BOLD SPRINGS, June 2, 2024 - Shortly before 11 pm on June 2, 2024, a vehicle fire was reported off of FM-350 North near Cedar Grove Road (seven miles off of 190 West).  Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, and Trooper Johnny Wilkerson with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Firemen extinguished the blaze and found the vehicle to be unoccupied.  The vehicle, a white 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander, had been north-bound on FM-350 North when it left the pavement to the right, struck a tree, and caught fire.  The driver apparently fled the scene. Additionally, witnesses stated that they could hear exploding rounds (bullets) coming from inside the vehicle fire.  At time of press, it is not yet known who was driving the vehicle.  A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing was summoned to recover the vehicle.
