Frank Donalson (left) watches as his 1995 Chevy truck is retrieved from Lake Livingston by Ken's Towing.
Truck Rolls Backwards Into Lake Livingston, SCENIC LOOP, June 2, 2011 - At approximately 7:15 am on June 2, 2011, Frank Donalson, 67, of Shepherd, was attempting to back his boat into Lake Livingston from the boat ramp at the end of FM-2457 near Scenic Loop.  According to Donalson, while he was backing the boat in, he sensed that his boat was starting to slide off its trailer.  Donalson then engaged the parking brake on his red 1995 Chevy truck (standard transmission).  When Donalson got out of his truck, the parking brake didn't hold and his truck rolled backwards into the water.  Deputy Mark Dubose with the Polk County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the scene along with Eddie Knight of the Trinity River Authority, and DPS Trooper Ramey Bass.  Donalson's truck went all the way into the lake right up to the truck's roof.  According to Trooper Bass, no citations were issued.  A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered the flooded vehicle and it will be taken to Donalson's house.  The scene was cleared shortly after 8 am.

On May 19, 2011, a large truck crashed into Lake Livingston due to an 18 year old driver who was allegedly driving while intoxicated.

Special thank you:  Stash Anderson and Ken from Ken's Towing.
The boat trailer came detatched from the trailer ball at some point.
Houdini was taken aback by the whole sordid affair.
