Accident in Seven Oaks Gets Young Couple Life Flighted, SEVEN OAKS, June 1, 2008 - A single vehicle accident on Camp Road sends a husband and wife to the hospital via life flight. At approximately 4:30 pm a small red 1989 Chevrolet truck driven by Willie Phillips, 35, of Seven Oaks was south bound on Camp Road in Seven Oaks when, according to Phillips, he tried to avoid a deer and lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a tree. The impact caved in the passenger's side of the truck where his wife, Synaca Phillips, 34, was sitting. The truck spun around and came to rest on the side of the road. Two Americare Ambulances arrived and EMS personnel were able to remove them from the vehicle. Willie Phillips sustained a broken arm while his wife sustained a broken leg. Both were transported to a location where life flight was waiting to transport them to Hermann Hospital in Houston. Deputy Glen Edwards was the first emergency responder to arrive on the scene, followed by Americare, and then DPS Trooper Glen Goodwin. Friends and bystanders gathered as EMS Personnel worked on both victims of the accident. It is not yet known if Phillips had insurance or if he and his passenger had seat-belts fastened. The vehicle was to be removed from the scene by friends. The scene was cleared in about one hour.
