Man Totals Truck on 1988 Near Lake Livingston Dam, LIVINGSTON, May 30, 2009 - Shortly before 8 pm on May 29, 2009, a maroon 1994 Ford Ranger driven by Wesley Walter Sumrall, 28, of Missouri City, Texas, was southeast bound on FM-1988. As Sumrall entered a curve his vehicle left the road to the right, rolled through the grass and struck a tree stump on the front passenger's side totaling the truck. A passing San Jacinto Sheriff's Deputy, Daniel Adams, stopped to investigate. DPS Trooper Brent Murray was dispatched to the scene along with Polk County Sheriff's Deputy, Jamie Buie and Americare Ambulance Service. Sumrall laid on the ground by his truck bloodied but otherwise okay. EMS personnel treated Sumrall at the scene. Sumrall was issued a citation for unsafe speed. Sumrall did have insurance. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Sumrall's vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. The scene was cleared shortly after 9 pm.
