18 Wheeler Turns Over, Driver Hospitalized, LIVINGSTON, August 28, 2023 - Shortly before 2 pm on August 28, 2023, an 18 wheeler that was hauling 2x4 lumber was south-bound on US-59. According to the driver, another car distracted him by waving, causing the driver, Cedric Jackson, 45, of Livingston, to lose control and turn over his rig just south of Bounds Autoplex. Jackson lost his load to 2x4s that were strewn all over the center median, the pavement, and the right median. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with officers from Livingston Police Department including Sergeant Ronnie Bogany and Chief Matt Parrish (and other officers from LPD). Jackson was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Traffic on the south-bound side of 59 was backed up for over a mile. TXDOT was also dispatched to assist. A heavy duty wrecker from Clifton Chevrolet out of Corrigan was summoned to clean up the mess. Jackson is likely facing a charge for his inattentive driving.
