63 year old Allen Engle of Splendora lays in the grass in pain as EMS personnel from Americare Ambulance Service tend to him.
Beat Up, But Otherwise Okay, Splendora Man Crashes His Motor Scooter, LIVINGSTON, May 26, 2013 - At approximately 1:45 pm on May 26, 2013, a black Yamaha motor scooter driven by Allen Delyn Engle, 63, of Splendora was east-bound on US-190 West when he lost control of his motor scooter. Engle's motor scooter lightly struck another vehicle.  The bike fell down and slid to the right, as Engle himself rolled multiple times over the pavement and into the grass on the right side of the pavement. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Trooper Allen Stanton with the Texas Highway Patrol. Stanton was assisted by Troopers Darwon Evans and Kevin Burman, the Livingston Police Department, and Sergeant Rob Thomas with the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Traffic was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Engle laid in the grass as EMS personnel from Americare came to his aid. He was bloodied up pretty good, but didn't appear to have incapacitating injuries. He was transported by Ambulance to Livingston Memorial Hospital. According to Trooper Stanton, Engle was cited for failure to control speed. Engle's motor scooter was recovered by a rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.
