Seth Jones of Cleveland walked away from this horrific accident.
GMC Truck Totaled in Accident With 18 Wheeler, GOODRICH, May 21, 2009 - At approximately 7:45 am on May 21, 2009 a green 1993 GMC Sierra driven by Seth Jones, 22, of Cleveland was north-bound on US-59 in Goodrich when a white 2005 Volvo 18 Wheeler driven by Wymon Carter, 60, of Brunridge, Alabama pulled out of the parking lot of Polk Pick it Up, failing to yield right-of-way to Jones. Jones' truck slammed into the side of Carter's 18 wheeler. Both vehicles came to stop in the left lane of 59 north. Jones' vehicle was totaled while Carter's was rendered immobile. DPS Troopers Nita Bowen, Ramey Bass, and Darwon Evans were dispatched to the scene along with Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Americare Ambulance Service. The 18 wheeler is owned by Oakley Trucking, Inc. out of North Little Rock, Arkansas. Both lanes of the north-bound side of 59 were re-routed as the accident was being cleared and investigated. Fortunately, nobody was injured and both parties had insurance. Carter was issued a citation for failure to yield right-of-way from a private drive. Jones' truck was towed by Ken's Towing and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. Carter's vehicle was pushed back into the parking lot where it was to be picked up later.
Both lanes of 59 North were blocked and traffic rerouted through a parking lot.
