Motorcycle Accident Turns Fatal, CRYSTAL LAKE, May 20, 2020 - At approximately 9:05 pm on May 20, 2020, a red Yamaha motorcycle, driven by Kedar Gordon, 21, of Livingston, was west-bound on US-190 East. As Gordon was approaching the vicinity of Crystal Lake West Road, an F-750 commercial truck (pulling a trailer), driven by Justin Laribee, 41, of Montgomery, pulled off of Crystal Lake West Road. The motorcycle impacted the truck right where it connects with the trailer on the passenger's side. Gordon's motorcycle came to rest in the right lane on the west-bound side while the truck/trailer pulled to the shoulder. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputy Adrian Ontiveros with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Troopers Ashlee White, Linley Clark, and Kevin Saintes with the Texas Highway Patrol. Emergency personnel immediately began cpr on Gordon. Laribee was not injured. Gordon was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital and was pronounced deceased at 9:46 pm. Justice of the Peace, Jamie Richardson performed an inquest. Evidence at the scene suggests that Gordon was traveling very fast as tire skid marks on the road extended over 440 feet before impact. Laribee is likely facing citations for the accident. Gordon's motorcycle was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker Service and will be stored in Goodrich. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
