Vehicle Rolls Over Several Times North of Corrigan, CORRIGAN, May 17, 2008 - At approximately 12 noon on May 17, 2008, a silver late model Pontiac G6 driven by Ruben Ramos, 26, of Dibol was north-bound on Highway 59 about 6 miles north of Corrigan when, according to Ramos, an 18 wheeler ahead of him made an unsafe lane change putting him in danger. According to DPS Trooper Brent Murray, Ramos took evasive action in order to avoid a collision with the truck and over-corrected, lost control of his vehicle and went off the highway to the right and rolled several times down a steep embankment and came to a rest upside down in a ditch. The driver of the tractor trailer never stopped and has not been found. Ramos was pulled from the vehicle and was cared for by medical personnel from Americare Ambulance service and then transported to Woodland Heights Hospital in Lufkin with non-life-threatening injuries. Policemen from both Dibol and Corrigan were at the scene and DPS Troopers Brent Murray and Darwon Evans. Ramos had his seatbelt fastened. Ramos also had insurance. A wrecker from James Riley Wrecker Service arrived to pull the car out of the ditch.
