Driver Takes Out 2 Utility Poles, Arrested for Suspicion of DWI, LIVINGSTON, May 15, 2024 - At approximately 7:25 pm on May 15, 2024, the driver of a white Dodge pickup was south-bound on South Houston Avenue (146) when he left the pavement to the right, struck and utility pole (pole snapped), bounced off, and continued south-bound and slid into a second utility pole (snapping second pole).  The pickup came to rest on the lawn of the SPCA.  Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department.  Amazingly, the driver wasn't injured.  Officers with Livingston Police Department were dispatched to the scene.  Sergeant Ken Dillard executed a field sobriety test on the driver.  The driver (name not yet released) couldn't seem to do the tasks asked of him in a field sobriety test.  The driver was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.  Traffic on 146 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup.  We'll update this story with the driver's name as soon as we're able to ascertain that information.
