All five occupants of the van were taken to Livingston Memorial Hospital.
The van rolled and came to rest upright in the median.
Trooper Nickolas Hatton assisted in the investigation.
Ameer Syed's 2006 Mercedes Benz E350 was slammed in the rear half.
