25 year old Ivan Solis, of Rio Grande City was driving this 2008 Chevy Silverado when he lost a wheel and lost control.
Pickup Loses Wheel, Loses Control, SPRING CREEK, May 8, 2017 - At approximately 2:45 pm on April 8, 2017, a red 2008 Chevy Silverado (pulling a trailer) driven by Ivan Solis, 25, of Rio Grande City, was west-bound on US-190W just west of Sandydale Lane. Solis' front driver's side wheel came off of his pickup. Solis' vehicle veered into the opposite lane of traffic and grazed an east-bound tan 2002 Cadillac Escalade, driven by James Earnest Gregory, 69, of Livingston. Solis' vehicle left the pavement of the east-bound lanes and slammed into stone merchandise at MSC Landscaping and slammed into a tree. Gregory's vehicle slid backwards off the edge of the west-bound lane of traffic. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Onalaska Police Department and Troopers Chris Cain and Nick Hatton with the Texas Highway Patrol. Amazingly, nobody was seriously hurt, nobody was hospitalized. Traffic on both sides of 190 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Solis was cited for no driver's license. Both vehicles were recovered by George White & Sons Wrecker Service and will be stored in Onalaska.
