Riding 4 wheelers on public roads is against the law in Texas. The driver of this 4 wheeler crashed and was ejected and seriously injured.
16 Year Old Girl Flown From 4 Wheeler Accident, LIVINGSTON, May 2, 2010 - At approximately 7:40 pm on May 2, 2010, a sixteen year old girl was riding a 4 wheeler west-bound on Summit Road in the subdivision of Shelter Cove. There was another 4 wheeler riding in front of her. The lead 4 wheeler made a left on West Sherwood. The following 4 wheeler slammed into the back of the lead 4 wheeler ejecting the driver. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputy Lee Rogers and DPS Trooper Sam Lattner and Trooper Kevin Burman. The sixteen year old girl who was ejected was treated by EMS Personnel and loaded onto an Ambulance and transported to Blanchard Baptist Church where a PHI Air Medical Helicopter landed nearby on FM-2457 and flew her to Hermann Hospital in Houston with serious injuries. The driver of the lead 4 wheeler was not injured. According to Corporal Sam Lattner with the Texas Highway Patrol, the girl was issued a citation for failure to control speed and was issued a warning for driving a 4 wheeler on a county roads. Driving 4 wheelers on public roads is against the law. The scene was cleared before 9 pm.
