Postal Truck Broadsided by Pickup, SODA, April 28, 2024 - At approximately 12:45 pm on April 28, 2024, the driver of a white 2013 Ford F-150 was west-bound on US-190 East when the driver of a US Postal truck (also west-bound) attempted a dangerous U-Turn directly in front of the Ford pickup. The driver of the postal truck pulled to the right shoulder, and swung out in a U-Turn attempt, and was broadsided in the 8100 block of 190 East (just east of Soda Baptist Church). Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Amazingly, there were no injuries. By all appearances, the driver of the postal truck is likely facing a citation for the unsafe U-Turn. The pickup was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston, while the postal truck was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker Service out of Goodrich.
Deputy Adrian Ontiveros speaks with the driver of the Ford pickup.
The driver of the postal truck was not physically injured.
All the mail in the truck was recovered and cared for by another postal worker.
Houdini assisted Ken's Towing with recovery duties.
