22 year old Jessica Pucket of Livingston slammed sideways into a pine tree. The 2003 Chevy Cavalier was totaled.
Mother and 3 Month Old Son Hospitalized from 1 Vehicle Accident, HORTENSE, April 28, 2013 - At approximately 9:35 am on April 28, 2013, a silver 2003 Chevy Cavalier driven by Jessica Pucket, 22, of Livingston, was east-bound on FM-942 East when, according to Pucket, she swerved to avoid hitting a squirrel in the road.  Pucket's vehicle left the road to the left and slammed sideways into a pine tree.  The impact caved in the passenger's side of her vehicle.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Sergeant Rob Atkins with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Pucket and her 3 month old son were removed from the vehicle and treated at the scene, then transported by ambulance to Lufkin Memorial Hospital.  Pucket's infant was in a child's seat, but still suffered a laceration to the head.  Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup.  Pucket's vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.

Tire marks lead to Pucket's point of impact.

Corporal Ramey Bass investigated the accident.
