Taylor Lake Estages, April 23, 2011: A 14 year old girl sustained serious injuries on this 4 wheeler.
14 Year Old Girl Injured in 4 Wheeler Accident, Flown to Tyler, ACE, April 23, 2011 - Shortly before 11 am on April 23, 2011 an ATV accident occurred in the Subdivision of Taylor Lake Estates near FM-2610. According to witnesses, the accident occurred when a 14 year old girl riding a camouflage Kawasaki 4 wheeler was riding on the banks of the Trinity river at the back of Taylor Lake Estates near the sand bar. The girl was allegedly jumping dirt mounds. One witness stated that when she jumped a mound of dirt she slipped off the ATV and was sucked under and ran over by her own 4 wheeler. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with volunteer firemen from South Polk County and Livingston. EMS personnel treated the girl at the scene and then transported her to Ace Baptist Church where a PHi Helicopter picked her up and flew her to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. Trooper Darwon Evans with the Texas Highway Patrol also arrived to speak with witnesses and family members. The scene was cleared by 12:40 pm.
The Trinity River runs through the north-side of Talylor Lake Estates.
