82 year old Bobbie Gordy of Coldspring was cited for no insurance and a moving violation.
Car Slams Motorscooter, SWARTWOUT, April 22, 2013 - At approximately 4:45 pm on April 21, 2013, William J. Brantner, 38, of Coldspring, was sitting at the intersection of FM-1988 West and FM-3278 at a stop sign.  Brantner was waiting to make a left turn onto 1988, when a west-bound silver Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Bobbie Cave Gordy, 82, of Coldspring, cut the corner of the intersection and slammed into Brantner.  The collision knocked Brantner from his motorscooter.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputy Terry Valka with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Darwon Evans and Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol.  EMS personnel tended to Brantner who hurt his leg, may have broke a toe, and was just aching from the collison.  Bobbie Gordy was physically okay.  Brantner opted to refuse medical treatment.  Traffic was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup.  According to Trooper Evans, Bobbie Gordy was cited for no insurance and for cutting the corner.  Brantner's Harley Davidson motorscooter was recovered by a friend with a trailer.
