23 year old Vannessa Holcomb, of Goodrich, was driving this 2011 Dodge Journey north-bound on US-59 when another vehicle pulled off of Queens Row Road directly in front of her causing a glancing collision.
Failure to Yield Causes Collision, GOODRICH, April 19, 2024 - At approximately 6:55 pm on April 19, 2024, a black 2011 Dodge Journey, driven by Vanessa Holcomb, 23, of Goodrich, was north-bound on US-59.  As Holcomb was passing Lone Star Charlie's Restaurant, a silver 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Ann Dunn, 86, of Rye, pulled off of Queens Row Road onto 59 and failed to yield to Holcomb.  The collision was nearly a broadside, but Holcomb's vehicle just grazed the front end of Dunn's vehicle.  The collision sent Holcomb's vehicle into the center median while Dunn's vehicle spun around and came to rest on the pavement.  Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Corporal Darren Brooks with the Polk County Sheriff's Office.  EMS treated Holcomb's female passenger at the scene as well as Dunn.  Traffic on 59 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup.  Dunn is likely facing a citation for failure to yield.  Dunn's vehicle was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker Service out of Goodrich while Holcomb's vehicle was also towed from the scene.

86 year old Ann Dunn, of Rye, pulled off of Queens Row Road and failed to yield to Holcomb.
Holcomb's passenger was shaken up, and treated at the scene.
