Accident Takes Life of Livingston Woman, SWARTWOUT, April 18, 2019 - At approximately 8:25 am on April 18, 2019, a silver 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Josey Breann Shutter, 28, of Livingston, was east-bound on FM-1988. Due to wet road conditions, Shutter's vehicle began to hydroplane and turned sideways. Her vehicle slid directly into a west-bound black 2000 Ford F-150 driven by Dwayne Keith Boyette, 34, of Goodrich. The impact caused both vehicles to leave the pavement and slide into the grass on the west-bound side of 1988. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Allen Stanton and Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol. Sadly, Shutter was killed on impact. Boyette sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. Traffic on 1988 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Justice of the Peace, Sarah Arnette performed an inquest at the scene. A first-call car from Cochran Funeral Home transported Shutter from the scene. Shutter was the mother of a small child. Boyette's vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. Shutter's vehicle was recovered by LakeView Wrecker and will be stored in Livingston. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.

Shutter's vehicle slid sideways into this oncoming 2000 Ford F-150 driven by 34 year old Dwayne Keith Boyette, of Goodrich.
Shutter's airbags deployed and she reportedly had her seatbelt fastened.
Boyette's airbags also deployed.
A first-call car from Cochran Funeral Home transported Shutter from the scene.
