Unsafe U-Turn Causes Major Accident, MOSCOW, April 16, 2020 - At approximately 10:20 am on April 16, 2020, an 18 wheeler, driven by Carlos Delgado, 41, of Waxahachie, was south-bound on US-59, just south of FM-62. Delgado apparently missed a crossover and attempted a U-Turn to go back and pulled directly in front of a gray 2014 Dodge Ram pickup that was pulling a trailer loaded with firewood. The pickup (driven by Ervin Fisher, 39, of Corrigan) broadsided the 18 wheeler. Fisher's vehicle slid off of Delgado's vehicle and continued south where it came to rest on the left side of the pavement. Delgado's 18 wheeler went into the center median. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Officer McDuffie with the Corrigan Police Department, Constable Ray Myers, and Trooper Ashlee White with the Texas Highway Patrol. Fisher was transported by ambulance to a hospital. Delgado was physically okay. Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. Delgado will be cited for the unsafe U-Turn. Fisher's vehicle was recovered by Clifton Chevrolet out of Corrigan. Delgado's rig was recovered by a heavy duty wrecker.
