59 year old Stephen Robert Bitting, of Livingston crashed this Harley Davidson off Kate Lowe Road at FM-350 South.
Driver Crashes Motorcycle, Arrested for DWI, LIVINGSTON, April 15, 2015 - At approximately 9:10 pm on April 15, 2015, a Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Stephen Robert Bitting, 59, of Livingston, was south-bound on FM-350 South. According to Bitting, a north-bound vehicle entered his lane and he swerved to avoid the vehicle. Bitting's motorcycle left the pavement to the left and rolled through grass until he crossed over Kate Lowe Road and crashed into the muddy weeds on the south-side of Kate Lowe. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Trooper Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol. Fortunately, Bitting seemed to have escaped injury and didn't need the services of Americare personnel. Trooper Akers performed a field sobriety test on Bitting and placed him under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Bitting admitted to Akers that he had been drinking beer prior to the accident. Traffic on Kate Lowe was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Sergeant Darrell Newman with Livingston Police Department arrived on the scene and transported Bitting to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital for a voluntary blood withdrawal. Bitting's motorcycle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.
