Two Hospitalized in Accident, LIVINGSTON, April 14, 2010 - Shortly before 3 pm on April 14, 2010 a gold colored GMC truck driven by Billy Harper, 74, of Katy, was west-bound on US-190 and attempted a left turn onto 350 south at the traffic light (by City Grille restaurant). Harper failed to yield right-of-way to an coming east-bound white Ford F-350 driven by John E. Johnson, 74, of Livingston. Johnson's truck slammed into the passenger's side rear section of Harper's truck. The collision spun Harper's truck around facing the opposite direction of travel and it came to rest where 350 meets 190. Johnson's truck pulled over to the right of 190 east on the shoulder. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Officers Kevin Ward, Adam Williford, Chad Ward and Sergeant Ronnie Bogany all with Livingston Police Department. Traffic on 190 east and FM-350 was partially blocked as the accident was being investigated and cleared. Harper's two passenger's were transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital by ambulance with undisclosed injuries. A rollback wrecker from LakeView Wrecker Service recovered Harper's truck and it will be stored at LakeView Storage in Livingston while Johnson's truck was driven home. Both parties had insurance. No citations have yet been issued as the accident is under investigation by LPD.
