76 year old Beverly Shannon, of Coldspring, was driving this 2018 Chevy Equinox when she pulled off of the north end of Loop 393 but failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle on 59 South.
2 Vehicle Accident, 1 Person Hospitalized, GOODRICH, April 12, 2024 - At approximately 2 pm on April 12, 2024, a silver 2009 Honda Accord, driven by Melanie Ann Evans, 53, of Logansport, Louisiana, was south-bound on US-59.  As Evans was passing the north end of Loop 393, a gray 2018 Chevy Equinox, driven by Beverly Shannon, 76, of Coldspring, pulled off of 393 directly in front of Evans.  The vehicles collided.  Shannon's vehicle spun around and came to rest on the pavement while Evans' vehicle left the pavement to the right and went down into the grass and stopped at the edge of a parking lot.  Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Goodrich Volunteer Fire Department and Trooper Johnny Wilkerson with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Shannon was transported by ambulance to Kingwood Hospital while Evans and her passenger (and their dog, Isabella) were physically okay.  Traffic on the south-bound side at 393 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup.  Shannon is facing a citation for failure to yield.  Shannon's vehicle was recovered by Smith Towing and will be stored in Livingston while Evans' vehicle was recovered by Pop's Wrecker Service and will also be stored in Livingston.

53 year old Melanie Ann Evans, of Logansport, Louisiana, was driving this 2008 Honda Accord south on US-59 when Sannon pulled in front of her.
Evans and her 2 passengers (including the Pomeranian, Isabella) were all physically okay.
