Robert Shepherd's truck struck this marker causing his truck to roll.
Truck Rollover Accident on 3126 Near 1988, LIVINGSTON, April 12, 2009 - At approximately 10 am on April 12, 2009, a black 2000 Chevy Truck driven by Robert F. Shepherd, 31, of Alvin, turned off of FM-1988 and north on FM-3126. As Shepherd came into the first curve he was coming too fast for the sharpness of the curve combined with the wet roads. Shepherd's truck left the road to the right and struck a historical marker causing the truck to roll and come to rest on the side of the road upside down. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene but Shepherd and his passengers were physically okay. DPS Trooper Chris Stanbery was also dispatched to the scene to investigate. Traffic was not blocked during investigation and clean up. Shepherd did have insurance and seat-belts were fastened. Shepherd was however issued a citation for unsafe speed. A wrecker from Harwood Wrecker Service recovered Shepherd's vehicle and it was towed to Shepherd's father's house (here in Livingston). The scene was cleared by around 11 am.
