Jeromy Nelson's Hyundai Santa Fe was struck by another vehicle (the driver chose to flee the scene and got caught).
Driver Hits Another Vehicle and Flees Scene, Caught and Arrested, GOODRICH, April 9, 2012 - Shortly before 9 pm on April 8, 2012, Jeromy Nelson, 32, of Livingston was driving on Robin Road (the entrance of Country Sunrise subdivision). Nelson (with his wife and small daughter in the vehicle with him) was waiting at a stop sign at FM-1988 East and Robin Road when a west-bound black 2002 Chevy Silverado driven by Rodrigo Reyes, 20, of Goodrich turned onto Robin Road and struck the front driver's side of Nelson's Hyundai Santa Fe. Reyes decided that he would flee the scene rather than stop and see if everyone was okay or give information. Nelson followed Reyes and noted where he lived and called the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Corporal Billy Duke was dispatched to the scene and retrieved Reyes from his house and brought him back to the scene of the accident. Trooper Joe Cole with the Texas Highway Patrol was also dispatched and began an investigation at the scene. Reyes' truck had the paint on it that matched Nelson's vehicle. Rodrigo Reyes was placed under arrest by Trooper Cole and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and no driver's license. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the accident and Nelson drove his vehicle home while Reyes got drove to Polk County Jail.

Corporal Billy Duke (center) found Rodrigo Reyes at his house and brought him back to the scene.
Reyes smelled of alcohol, but says as soon as he got home he began drinking. Trooper Cole placed Reyes under arrest and charged him with leaving the scene of an accident and no driver's license.
