Driver Rolls Pickup, Arrested for DWI, MT ROSE, April 7, 2019 - At approximately 11:50 pm on April 6, 2019, a blue 2006 Ford F-150, Driven by Cody William Fugate, 27, of Cypress, was south-bound on FM-3126. Fugate appears to have entered a curve too fast and left the pavement to the right (the curve that leads to FM-1988 South). Fugate's pickup drove across the corner of a field, and through a ditch. As Fugate was coming out of the ditch, his pickup was sideways and the tires caught the edge of the pavement on 1988. This caused his pickup to roll. His pickup rolled across 1988, crashed through a barbed wire fence and came to rest on its drivers side. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputy Kade Burman with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Corporal Ramey Bass and Kevin Burman with the Texas Highway Patrol. Fugate suffered a minor cut and refused medical treatment. Fugate showed signs of intoxication (alcohol) and was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Traffic on 1988 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Fugate's vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.

Fugate rolled his pickup and crashed through a barbed wire fence off FM-1988 South (just south of the intersection of 3126 and 1988).
