Alcohol Suspected in Parking Lot Motorcycle Wreck, SEVEN OAKS, April 6, 2010 - According to witnesses, at approximately 4:51 pm on April 5, 2010, Benny D. Havard, 26, of Livingston, was sitting on his black 2000 Kawasaki motorcycle at the Exxon parking lot in Seven Oaks. Witnesses said that Havard was revving his motorcycle loudly and suddenly took off at a high rate of speed, lost control, and slammed into a fuel pump. Havard's motorcycle stopped instantly and he was ejected from his motorcycle. Havard was not wearing a helmet. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Corrigan Volunteer Fire Department and DPS Troopers David Flowers, Kevin Burman and Chris Stanbery. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Havard admitted to have drinking alcohol before the accident occurred. Havard was loaded onto an ambulance and transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with a serious leg injury. Havard was issued citations for driving with a suspended license, no motorcycle license, and faces a possible citation for driving while intoxicated. Havard's motorcycle was recovered by Riley Wrecker Service where it will be stored in Corrigan. The scene was cleared before 6 pm.

Though the pump was damaged, it did not leak diesel, however, Havard's fuel tank ruptured and was leaking gasoline (visible in picture).
