47 year old Charles Anthony Riffe, of Shepherd, was dropped off in front of the Ford Dealership (just south of Livingston), after being picked up by a bystander from Riffe's motorcycle accident in Goodrich.
Motorcycle Accident Hospitalizes Shepherd Man, GOODRICH, April 1, 2016 - At approximately 10:10 am on April 1, 2016, a black 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Charles Anthony Riffe, 47, of Shepherd, was north-bound on US-59 in Goodrich. Riffe clipped the rear passenger's side fender of a 1952 Ford Pickup driven by Richard Anglen, 71, of Goodrich. Anglen pulled out of the parking lot of the Valero station and appears to have failed to yield to Riffe. The collision sent Anglen into the grassy median. Riffe's motorcycle came to rest in the right lane of the north-bound side of 59. A passer by drove upon the accident and attempted to help Riffe. She helped Riffe into her car and apparently intended to take Riffe to the hospital. She was flagged down by EMS personnel from Americare and Allegiance Ambulance Services in front of the Ford dealership south of Livingston. Riffe was placed into the grass and was hollering and writhing in pain from an injury to his left arm. Riffe was loaded into an ambulance and transported to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. Anglen was physically okay. Troopers Donny Akers and Shawn Droddy were dispatched to investigate the accident. Traffic on 59 was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. The accident remains under investigation. A rollback wrecker from Harrison Body Shop recovered both vehicles (The motorcycle will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston while the truck was towed to Anglen's residence in Goodrich).
