The black vehicle broadsided the white vehicle knocking both vehicles off the road.
Two Hospitalized in Accident, BLANCHARD, April 2, 2011 - Shortly before 6 pm on April 1, 2011, a white Chevy Blazer driven by Conrad Williams, 56, of Livingston was west-bound on FM-2457. Williams attempted a left turn onto Chris Brent Road and was broadsided by a black 2000 Ford Ranger driven by Donald Lee Henley, 81, of Livingston. Henley was attempting a pass when Williams tried to make a left turn causing the collision. The impact knocked both vehicles off the road to the left right at the corner of Chris Brent and FM-2457. Williams' vehicle came to rest in the ditch. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, Deputy Brent Foster with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Darwon Evans and Rocky Thigpen (both with the Texas Highway Patrol). Volunteer Firemen used the jaws-of-life to cut the door off of Williams' car to gain access to Williams who was loaded onto an ambulance and Driven to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Donald Lee Henley was also transported to Livingston Memorial with non-life-threatening injuries. One lane of traffic on FM-2457 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. According to Trooper Darwon Evans, the accident remains under investigation to determine who was at fault; Henley who was attempting a legal pass and was committed to the pass, or Williams who turned in front of the pass. A rollback wrecker from LakeView Wrecker Service recovered Henley's vehicle and it will be stored in Livingston while Williams' vehicle was recovered by a rollback wrecker from Harwood Wrecker Service and it will be stored at Bounds Autoplex in Livingston. The scene was cleared by 7 pm.
