Single Vehicle Fatal Crash, BARNUM, March 30, 2024 - At approximately 3 pm on March 30, 2024, a 2001 Ford F-150 was west-bound on FM-287 East. The pickup left the edge of the roadway to the right, the driver then over corrected left and left the pavement to the left, began to roll and slammed into a large pine tree. The driver, Randall Lee Parker, 48, of Kennard, was ejected and killed on impact. Detective Adrian Ontiveros with the Polk County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the scene along with Trooper Sean Barnes with The Texas Highway Patrol. Justice of the Peace, Sarah Rasberry filed an inquest at the scene. Parker was transported from the scene by a first-call car from Corrigan Funeral Home. This accident remains under investigation by The Texas Highway Patrol.
